Canada's Wonderland DareDeviler coaster reopens with new aviation-era theme this week

Canada's Wonderland has confirmed that its revamped DareDeviler roller coaster will welcome riders this week, ending months of anticipation over the ride's launch date.

The newly themed coaster is scheduled to open Thursday, July 23, though some lucky guests could get an earlier ride. An official sign posted outside the attraction states that "the attraction may soft open to guests prior to July 23 as part of operational testing." The delay stems from the ride's need to complete remaining 300 conditioning cycles before full public access.

DareDeviler remained closed when the park opened for the summer 2026 season on May 3, undergoing a major overhaul to improve the overall ride experience. While the track remains the same, the project breathes new life into the former Flight Deck with redesigned trains intended to provide a smoother, more comfortable trip while preserving the intense elements that make the coaster a favourite among thrill seekers.

The transformation extends beyond the ride itself. Canada's Wonderland has reimagined the coaster with a new backstory connecting it to the park's Grande World Expo area, replacing its military-inspired theme with one celebrating aviation pioneers and daredevil performers. This is one of the park's biggest transformations for the 2026 season, joining an already stellar lineup of roller coasters that continues to draw guests from across the province.
