Canada's Wonderland has temporarily shut down two of its most popular thrill rides following a fatal incident at a sister park in Georgia.

Behemoth and Leviathan were closed after one person died and several others were injured Monday afternoon on the Goliath roller coaster at Six Flags Over Georgia, located northwest of Atlanta. According to the park's account, a passenger plummeted during a 200-foot climb on the ride. Authorities and Six Flags did not initially identify which coaster was involved; local television stations identified it as Goliath, which opened in 2006.

Behemoth and Leviathan are described as similar attractions to Goliath. Canada's Wonderland was open on Thanksgiving Monday when the Georgia incident occurred. Both coasters are among the park's most popular rides and experienced what the source describes as a tumultuous summer, though specific details of those incidents were not disclosed.

Sara Gorgon, a Six Flags Entertainment Corporation spokesperson, said: "Out of an abundance of caution, we have temporarily closed similar attractions across our parks." The corporation, which operates both Canada's Wonderland and Six Flags Over Georgia, stated that "the safety of our guests and team members remains one of our highest priorities."

The Cobb County Police Department will investigate the circumstances of Monday's incident. No timeline has been given for when Behemoth and Leviathan will reopen. How the passenger died and exactly how other riders sustained injuries remain unconfirmed by officials.
