Canada's Wonderland marks 45 years with one billionth visitor in Vaughan

A family from Kingston became part of Canada's Wonderland history when an announcement from Christopher Mortensen, President of Canada's Wonderland, came over station speakers confirming that their daughter had reached the park's one billionth visitor milestone while riding Thunder Run.

John and Kim S., along with their kids Annabelle and John Jr., were enjoying the ride when Annabelle achieved the historic marker. "Reaching one billion riders is an incredible moment in Canada's Wonderland's history. For more than four decades, our guests have trusted us to be part of their family traditions and most memorable moments," Mortensen said.

To celebrate the milestone, the family was greeted by Snoopy and received a Canada's Wonderland prize package that included merchandise, return tickets to the park, and Fast Lane Plus vouchers.

While Annabelle became the park's one billionth rider after boarding Thunder Run, Dragon Fyre holds the record as Canada's Wonderland's most-ridden attraction. The 78-foot-tall helix coaster has carried 45.7 million riders since the park opened in 1981.

Canada's Wonderland remains a summer staple for families in the greater Toronto area and beyond, offering unique food offerings, the Splash Works water park, and over 200 attractions, including an array of roller coasters for thrill-seekers of all ages. The Vaughan-based amusement park continues to draw visitors during the summer season.
