Ajax MPP Rob Cerjanec enters Ontario Liberal leadership race

Rob Cerjanec, the Ajax MPP elected in 2025, has entered the Ontario Liberal Party's leadership race, becoming the fourth candidate to vie for the role.
Cerjanec is running under the slogan "Let's Build Ontario" and pledges to rebuild the party following recent electoral setbacks. He's focusing his platform on affordability measures and improving education and health-care systems—priorities that resonate with voters across the GTHA.
Fellow caucus member Stephanie Bowman will co-chair his campaign. Cerjanec joins former federal Liberal cabinet member Navdeep Bains, provincial caucus member Lee Fairclough, and early entrant Dylan Marando in the race.
Liberal MP Nate Erskine-Smith indicated his bid is now unlikely after losing a nomination fight in Scarborough Southwest to Ahsanul Hafiz, signaling internal turbulence within the party as it attempts to chart a new direction.
