Two arrested after armed robbery, carjacking attempt near Bathurst and Richmond
Police say the pair robbed two people at gunpoint, fled in a stolen vehicle, and pointed a loaded firearm at officers during arrest Saturday morning.

Two men are facing multiple charges after police say they robbed two people at gunpoint, attempted to flee in a stolen vehicle, and one of them pointed a firearm at officers during arrest.
The incident happened around 3:20 a.m. on Saturday near Bathurst Street and Richmond Street West. According to Toronto Police, two suspects approached two people and robbed them at gunpoint before taking off in a stolen vehicle. Officers located and tried to stop the vehicle, but it took off and crashed into another vehicle.
The two suspects then fled on foot. As officers pursued them, one of the accused tried unsuccessfully to carjack a separate vehicle. When officers moved to make arrests, one of the suspects pointed a firearm at officers. Both were taken into custody and two firearms were seized. Police said no shots were fired and no injuries were reported.
Tajae-J'nye Samuel-Maragh, 23, of Toronto, was charged with robbery with a firearm, disguise with intent, unauthorized possession of a firearm in a motor vehicle, carrying a concealed weapon, possession of a prohibited or restricted weapon, unauthorized possession of a firearm, possession of a loaded firearm, possession of a firearm contrary to prohibition, possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000, possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000, and two counts of possession of a prohibited device. Kingslee Ivan Christie, 29, of Whitby, was charged with disguise with intent, unauthorized possession of a firearm in a motor vehicle, dangerous operation of a conveyance, flight while being pursued by police, pointing a firearm, unauthorized possession of a firearm, possession of a loaded firearm, possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000, two counts of robbery with a firearm, two counts of possession of a prohibited device, two counts of operation of a conveyance while prohibited, and two counts of possession of a firearm contrary to prohibition.
Both appeared at Toronto Regional Bail Centre on Saturday. Police are asking anyone who witnessed the incident or recorded video to contact them.
