Bloor GO/UP station opens new pedestrian tunnel as Kitchener Line expands
A new 2.5-kilometre track between Dupont and Lansdowne will support increased capacity. The pedestrian tunnel and pavilion connecting to Randolph Avenue open July 31.

Ontario has completed major upgrades at Bloor GO/UP Station, one of Toronto's most connected transit hubs, bringing together GO Transit, UP Express, and TTC access in one facility.
New GO rail track—2.5 kilometres of it—has been installed between Dupont Street and Lansdowne Avenue, expanding the corridor to four tracks. A new pedestrian tunnel and covered pavilion connecting the station to Randolph Avenue open on July 31, 2026. A new park on Ernest Avenue provides year-round community access to revitalized public space. Additional safety improvements include a noise barrier, retaining wall, and taller fence on the west side of the Bloor Street West pedestrian bridge.
These upgrades support future increased service on the Kitchener Line as part of Ontario's plan to introduce two-way, all-day GO service. Once full construction is complete, travel time between Kitchener and Union Station will drop from 111 minutes to 98 minutes.
Ontario is investing $70 billion in the largest transit expansion in North America, including more than $15 billion to deliver faster, more frequent GO Transit service across the region. The federal government has invested $1.9 billion in the GO Expansion program.
