King Street West closed through Friday for TIFF; TTC streetcars rerouted

King Street West between Spadina Avenue and University Avenue closes from 5 a.m. Thursday, September 10 through 5 a.m. Monday, September 14, with an additional closure from 3 p.m. to 11:59 p.m. Tuesday, September 15 for the Toronto International Film Festival, which runs September 10–20.

Three TTC streetcar routes will be affected: 504A/304 King, 508 Lake Shore, and 504B King. Streetcars will not serve stops on King between Spadina and York Street during the closure.

For eastbound 504A/304 King and 508 Lake Shore: service diverts north on Spadina Avenue, east on Queen Street West, south on York Street, east on Adelaide Street, south on Church Street, then resumes regular routing eastbound on King Street East.

For westbound service on the same lines: north on Church Street, west on Richmond Street, north on York Street, west on Queen Street West, south on Spadina Avenue, then back to regular routing on King Street West.

The 504B King line will not operate west of York Street during the closure. 504B service diverts south on Church Street, west on Wellington Street, north on York Street, then east to Broadview Station along King Street West.

TTC will position identifiable staff at key locations to assist customers and provide transit information. Potential additional delays may occur September 16–19 due to red carpet events.
