Line 1 subway service suspended between Union and St. George due to fire
Toronto Fire responded to a fire Wednesday evening that forced the TTC to halt service on a key downtown corridor.

The TTC halted subway service on Line 1 Yonge-University between Union and St. George stations Wednesday after a fire broke out in the system.
Toronto Fire received the call around 5:36 p.m. The exact location and cause of the fire remain unclear.
Passengers can use east and west bus and streetcar routes to travel through the downtown core, or connect with subway service on the Yonge side of Line 1. The TTC has not provided an estimated time for service restoration.
