Madison Shipman will make history Friday night when she becomes the first woman to call a regular-season Blue Jays game during the team's matchup against the San Diego Padres on Sportsnet.

Shipman will be in the booth for the entire three-game series alongside play-by-play announcer Ben Shulman. While she called two spring-training games in Dunedin in late February, Friday's game marks her first regular-season broadcast with the team.

Shipman, who played professional softball for the University of Tennessee, previously worked as an analyst and commentator for ESPN before joining the Blue Jays organization in 2023. The Blue Jays head into San Diego on a two-game winning streak and having won their previous three-game set against the San Francisco Giants.
