A man in his 20s was killed in a shooting in North York Friday night, marking the second fatal shooting in the city within 24 hours.

Toronto police responded to calls around 10:15 p.m. near Sheppard Avenue W. and Magellan Drive. Officers found the man with gunshot wounds and rushed him to hospital in life-threatening condition, but he was pronounced dead.

Police say they're uncertain whether one or multiple suspects were involved. A dark-coloured vehicle was seen fleeing the scene, and investigators are asking anyone with information to come forward.

The shooting underscores the pattern of gun violence across the city this week, with multiple fatal and non-fatal incidents reported across different neighborhoods.
