A man in his 30s was struck by a vehicle and pronounced dead at the scene in North York early Sunday morning around 1:45 a.m.

Toronto police responded to reports of a man lying on the roadway near Keele Street and Steeles Avenue W. Toronto paramedics confirmed an adult death at the scene; the man was not transported to hospital.

The driver of the vehicle remained at the scene. Police have not released information about the circumstances of how the man came to be on the roadway, the vehicle type involved, or the driver's identity or condition. No word yet on whether charges are being considered.
