A man is dead following a daylight stabbing in Mississauga on Tuesday afternoon, and Peel Regional Police are hunting for at least two suspects who fled the scene.

Officers responded to the area of Agnes Street and Hurontario Street near Dundas Street East around 12:23 p.m. after reports that a male had been stabbed. When police arrived, they found the victim suffering serious injuries. He was transported to hospital with life-threatening wounds and later pronounced dead.

An unknown number of suspects—believed to be possibly two individuals—were seen fleeing eastbound on Agnes Street following the attack. Police have released limited information about the suspects' descriptions or any potential motive.

The stabbing prompted nearby schools to be placed on hold-and-secure status as a precautionary measure while the scene was being investigated and officers searched the area. The school measure was eventually lifted once the immediate threat to the area was deemed to have passed.

The investigation is ongoing. Peel Regional Police are asking anyone with information about the stabbing, the suspects, or any video footage from the area to contact them. The victim's identity has not been released pending family notification.
