The Toronto Maple Leafs have unveiled a "Hometown Remix" jersey. The off-white design uses a vintage crest that remixes the team's original Maple Leafs logo from the 1927 season, the year the franchise changed its name from the Toronto St. Patricks.

Leaf-vein patterns are pressed into the blue and white striping on the sleeves and numbers. The team describes the pattern as representing its mantra of strength and unity. "Toronto" runs across the bottom in a varsity-style font, a tribute to the Varsity Blues.

The Leafs will wear the jersey on select nights. The first wear is Nov. 7 against the Montreal Canadiens at Scotiabank Arena, followed by a game against the New Jersey Devils the next night. Five Hometown Remix games are scheduled in November.

The jersey is available through Fanatics Canada for $274.99. Other NHL teams have used designs inspired by their cities; the Leafs went a more traditional route.
