Ontario's top court to rule on Peter Nygard's sexual assault appeal

Ontario's Court of Appeal is expected to release its decision Friday in the appeal of former fashion mogul Peter Nygard, who is contesting his sexual assault convictions and 11-year prison sentence.

Nygard, 84, was convicted in 2023 of four counts of sexual assault and sentenced to 11 years in prison, amounting to nearly seven years behind bars after accounting for pre-trial custody. The charges stemmed from allegations spanning from the 1980s until the mid-2000s, involving multiple women—one of whom was only 16 years old at the time of the alleged offence.
