A 62-year-old pedestrian was struck by a TTC streetcar Friday evening and rushed to hospital with life-threatening injuries.
Toronto Police responded to a personal injury collision at King Street East and St. Lawrence around 6:30 p.m. According to investigators, the pedestrian was walking northbound on the roadway when they were hit by the 504 King streetcar travelling eastbound. The pedestrian was transported to a hospital with life-threatening injuries.
The TTC said in a statement that the safety of customers, employees, and everyone using the transit system is paramount. "Our thoughts are with the individual who was injured, and we wish them a full recovery," a spokesperson said. "The TTC is cooperating fully with Toronto Police as they investigate the incident."
