York Regional Police have charged a private soccer coach following a sexual assault investigation involving a youth in Vaughan.
The incident occurred on August 18 during a one-on-one training session in the Milano Avenue and Martin Grove Road area. Investigators allege the victim was sexually assaulted during the lesson. The day after, authorities arrested Zachary Weinstein, 23, of Toronto. He faces charges of sexual assault and sexual interference.
Weinstein operates a private coaching business across the Greater Toronto Area and is known to conduct individual training sessions in multiple Vaughan neighbourhoods, including Milano Avenue and Martin Grove Road, as well as Coronation Street and Morning Star Drive. York Regional Police have released a photo of the accused and are urging anyone who may have trained with him to contact investigators.
The allegations have not yet been proven in court. Anyone with information is asked to contact York Regional Police's Special Victims Unit at 1-866-876-5423. Police believe there may be additional victims who have not yet come forward.
