Renata Ford, wife of the late Toronto mayor Rob Ford and sister-in-law of Premier Doug Ford, has died.
Premier Ford confirmed the news in a statement, saying, "My heart breaks for Stephanie and Dougie. They've been through so much at such young ages, and losing their mom is incredibly painful." He asked that people respect the family's privacy during this difficult time.
Renata was best known for standing by her late husband through his many controversies as Toronto's mayor. After his time in office, she ran as a People's Party of Canada candidate in the 2019 federal election.
