Toronto police are searching for a suspect after a man was stabbed in the leg in what investigators say was a hate-motivated assault along the Toronto waterfront.
The incident occurred around 7:30 p.m. on August 30, near Queens Quay West and Lower Spadina Avenue. The suspect approached the victim and another person, allegedly made anti-Sikh utterances and racial slurs, then attacked the man with a weapon.
The victim suffered non-life-threatening injuries from the stab wound.
Police describe the suspect as five feet six inches tall with black hair. At the time of the attack, he was wearing a navy-blue short-sleeved jersey with an NFL "Sunday Ticket" logo on the back and white stripes running from the base of the neck down the back to each armpit. He also wore blue jeans with a dark grease mark on the left calf and grey and black New Balance running shoes.
