Rundle Rock climbing area in Banff closes after large rockslide Tuesday morning
Parks Canada said a large amount of rock fell at the site around 11 a.m., leaving boulders across the area. People were in the climbing zone but no injuries were reported.

A large rockfall closed the Rundle Rock climbing area in Banff National Park on July 8, with no reported injuries despite people being present at the site.
Parks Canada said the rockslide occurred at approximately 11 a.m., leaving a significant number of boulders across the climbing area. EMS spokesperson Stuart Brideaux confirmed that people were in the area when the slide happened, but everyone has been accounted for with no one hurt.
Parks Canada said it is assessing the area to determine the cause of the rockfall. The immediate area will remain closed as parks staff continue investigation. The agency temporarily closed the zone from the Spray River bridge through to the Golf Course Road loop to the public, including pedestrians.
