Sun's out, World Cup's on—your Sunday sorted.

Morning. You've got the best weather in days—15°C, mainly sunny, and that UV is high at 8.0, so pack sunscreen if you're heading out. You're looking at 16 hours of daylight, with sunset not until 9:19 PM, which means plenty of time to move around town or linger on a patio.

A couple of things to know before you head out. Sunset Beach is closed for swimming right now due to high E. coli levels, so skip that one. And if you're catching transit anywhere, keep an eye on a few temporary shifts: the 192 has moved its southbound stop at 192 St & 28 Ave down to 27 Ave through Monday for construction work, and the 191 is running a detour from Coquitlam Central nightly until mid-July (8 PM to 5 AM) while they deal with a roadblock.

Vancouver's painting itself in World Cup colours right now. Downtown is absolutely rammed with about 10,000 Australian fans getting ready for tonight's match against Türkiye at BC Place—if you're heading that way, expect it to be buzzing. The city's got that electric feeling.

If you're thinking brunch or lunch, there's plenty to choose from. Waves Coffee has been lowering prices despite rising costs, so that's worth hitting. And if you're looking for something with a bit more ambition, there's a whole crop of new spots worth scoping out this summer. The Botanist is also bringing some of Canada's top cocktail bars in for summer pop-ups, so keep an eye on that if you're planning an evening out.

Tonight's where it gets good. World Cup kicks off at BC Place with Australia vs Türkiye—that's the main event. But if live music is your thing, there's plenty happening: Burning Spear is at the Commodore Ballroom at 7, Napalm Death at The Pearl around the same time, and ChRocktikal the 1st is on at The Red Room. There's also a UFC Freedom 250 watch party at Good Co. Granville starting at 4 PM if you want to catch that before or during the football.

With the sun not setting until after 9, you can catch a brunch, grab some live music, stick around for the match, and still have the evening stretching out in front of you. Dress in layers—it'll cool down once the sun drops, but you've got a real day ahead of you.

Get out there. Cheers.
