Monday hits different—World Cup buzz, Madison Beer tonight.

Morning's sitting at 17°C with mostly cloudy skies—a solid start to the week after the rain we've been living in. Sun's going down at 9:20 PM, so you've got a long daylight stretch to work with. UV's running high at 8.0, so if you're heading outside at lunch or catching the World Cup match this morning, don't sleep on sunscreen. Nothing wild weatherwise—just a proper early-summer Monday.

Transit heads-up: the 128 bus is still running detours through tomorrow, bouncing between Braid Station and 22nd Street Station due to construction. If you're heading that way, you're looking at the long way around via 22 St, 7 Ave, and 20 St. Granville Street downtown is fully closed to cars now—buses are using Howe southbound and Seymour northbound instead, so recalibrate if that's your usual route.

World Cup's in the air—Van's already hosted a massive match, and the buzz is real. This morning at 9:00 AM, Good Co. on Granville is hosting the International Football House matches, which means free soccer if you want to grab a coffee and catch the atmosphere before work really kicks in.

If you're thinking dinner, Main Street's Mortadella is worth the stop—they've been finding their stride in a temporary home and hitting their stride. Waves Coffee's also lowered prices lately, which is a rare bit of good news in the city right now. Worth knowing if that's your regular spot.

Tonight's the main event: Madison Beer's playing the Locket Tour at UBC's Doug Mitchell Thunderbird Sports Centre, doors around 7:30 PM. If you're into it and staying out late, there's also a fundraiser for Shaylen's Family at Fortune Sound Club starting at 10:00 PM—two different vibes depending on your mood.

Sunset's at 9:20, so if you're catching the show at UBC and then heading downtown after, you'll have that long twilight window. Dress in layers—it'll cool down once the sun dips, but nothing harsh.

Cheers, and enjoy the warmth while it's here.
