Thursday's got live music, World Cup prep, and no major transit drama.

Morning's mild and dry, so no excuses to stay in. You've got 16 hours of daylight and sunset's at 9:22 PM, which means you can stretch the day out if you want. UV's at 3, so sunscreen if you're planning outdoor time, but nothing alarming. Air's clean.

Transit's mostly smooth today — just the usual Thursday flow. If you're heading south on the 10 toward Granville, heads up there's a detour this morning: they're rerouting around 41 Ave through Oak and 57 Ave, but it should be sorted. Nothing major hitting your commute. Sunday's a different story if you're near UBC or heading downtown — they're prepping for a special event with detours on the 14 between the downtown core and UBC starting around that time, but today you're clear.

Worth knowing: humpback Artemis got freed after four days tangled in fishing gear — good news for anyone who's been following that one. Also keep an eye on the wildfire situation heading into the season. The one between Whistler and Pemberton's growing, and the BC Wildfire Service is expanding their night-vision helicopter fleet, so things are heating up in ways that matter out there.

If lunch is on your mind, there's some solid new spots worth trying. Chez Céline just opened as Vancouver's latest acclaimed French restaurant — if you're in the mood for that vibe. Or Loreto's bringing proper Mexican brunch to Union Street in Chinatown if you want something different. For something quick, Bread x Butter's hiding fluffy egg sandwiches inside a downtown tower — the kind of thing that hits different when you find it.

Tonight's got real buzz. There's International Football House matches at Good Co. on Granville at noon if you want to catch World Cup prep with a crowd. Come evening, you've got three solid concerts going: Holly Humberstone at the Commodore, Pink Martini at the Orpheum, and Summer Stars at The Pearl if you're feeling live music. If you want something lower-key, there's also Come From Away running at Stanley Industrial Alliance Stage. Pick your vibe — it's a genuinely good Thursday night out there.

Cheers, and enjoy the daylight while you've got it.
