Saturday's got World Cup fever—and the weather's on your side.

Morning. It's a proper Saturday—13°C, mostly cloudy, and you've got light for days (sunset's 9:22 PM). The UV's high at 7, so if you're heading outside, throw some sun on. No rain on the radar, so whatever you've got planned can stay on.

Transit's running clean this morning. The usual weekend vibe—nothing major to reroute your plans.

Vancouver's got World Cup on the brain today. There's a free viewing party at The Pearl at 2:00 PM if you want to catch the match in a room full of people who care. It's the kind of day that drinks taste better when they're shared, so if you're into it, that's your spot. After dark, the energy stays up—Skillibeng's running his Badman She Love tour at The Pearl at 7:00 PM if you want to keep the vibe going. There's also Boa at the Commodore at 7:00 if live music's more your lane, and The Play That Goes Wrong is on at Granville Island Stage (Artsclub) at 7:30 if you want theatre instead.

Food-wise, there's a new spot called Sumu doing yakitori and hot pot if you're after something warm and communal—the kind of place where everyone at the table gets to pick. If you're out wandering, the FIFA fan festival over at Hastings Park's got food vendors firing on all cylinders, so grab something there if the mood hits. VanSuya's also been the go-to for people fueling up properly.

One note for next week: the 185 Lansdowne's got nightly detours from 8:00 PM to 5:00 AM on weekdays until July 17, so if that's your regular line, you'll take Coquitlam Central, then Lougheed, Dewdney Trunk, and Mariner Way to get back on route. Sunday morning the 49 Metrotown's got a detour between 6:30 AM and noon due to a special event, so if you're heading that way early, budget a bit of extra time.

Longer view: Fort Langley's hosting a Jazz & Arts Festival July 23–26 if you want to flag that. World Cup's got a Switzerland match coming July 2 right here in Van if football's your thing.

Enjoy the daylight. Cheers.
