Clear skies and a long daylight stretch ahead — just watch for some transit reshuffles on the way in.

Monday morning: sun's out, commute's got a few detours.

Morning. It's 13°C and mainly sunny, which means you'll want sunscreen if you're outside long — UV's sitting at 7, which is properly high. You've got 16 hours of daylight today, so sunset's not until 9:19 PM. That's a gift for tonight if you're thinking about getting outside.

On the commute front, the 373 bus has detours running through this morning until 4 PM due to construction in Surrey. If you're heading out that way on the Central Station or Guildford routes, you're looking at a slightly longer ride — they're swinging through Kindersley, 113 and 140A to work around it. Nothing catastrophic, but leave a few minutes extra if you're timing it close.

Also, the left lane on the Oak Street Bridge is blocked until 5 AM this morning thanks to maintenance that started yesterday, so if you're crossing that way early, expect to merge. And if you're heading to Lougheed Town Centre on the Millennium Line, the escalator from the west mezzanine is down for now — stairs it is.

A couple of things worth knowing around the city: Vancouver FC put on a show this weekend, and the World Cup fan zone is in full swing on Pacific Boulevard if you want to catch that energy. The Lions are also sorted for the long term after Surrey stepped back from the Tom Binnie arena push, which is solid news if you care about the team's future.

Food-wise, if you're after something new, Emeri matcha just opened in Mount Pleasant where Goldilocks used to be — worth a walk if you're in the neighbourhood. There's also a new hot pot and hot plate spot in Richmond if you're headed that way. And if you're looking to stretch your grocery dollar, Quest Non-Profit Grocery Markets is selling food at half the commercial price.

One heads-up: Odd Burger's wrapping up their last Vancouver location on July 12, so if that's your spot, time it before then.

Tonight's pretty low-key unless you're into live music — there's A$AP RYDERZ at Midnight Mondays over at Fortune Sound Club at 10 PM if that calls to you. Otherwise, it's a solid night to sit with the clear skies. You could catch the last light at a beach if you're quick, or just ease into the week.

Cheers.
