Saturday's clear and warm — get outside while you can.

Morning — it's 16°C and mostly cloudy, which means you've got a solid window for whatever's calling you outside. UV's running high at 6, so if you're heading to the beach or the seawall, sunscreen isn't optional. You're looking at almost 15 hours of daylight, so no need to rush anything. Sunset's at 8:41 PM if you want to time an evening walk or patio.

Transit-wise, if you're heading out to Surrey today, the 329 and 314 are still on detour through tomorrow — they're running through Old Yale Rd and University Blvd instead of their usual route into Surrey Central Station. Not a huge deal if you know it's coming, but worth the heads-up. Everything else is running normal.

On the local radar: the city's been pushing hard on mental health support, and Richmond Night Market just closed its doors after 26 years — that's a real end of an era for the night crowd. On the brighter side, Roche Point Park got locked in for protection, so that's one less development fight happening.

If you're thinking brunch or an early bite, there's a new Thai place called Hen that just softly opened on West Broadway — chicken rice specialist if that's calling your name. Cantina Social Club is bringing some Mexico City energy to downtown at Pinche Taco Shop if you want that vibe. And if you're in the mood for something fancier, Sula's got a seven-course regional Indian tasting menu at $48 — solid for a Saturday if you're planning ahead.

Tonight's got real options. The BC Lions are home at BC Place at 4 PM taking on Hamilton — if you want an afternoon of football, that's your move. Later, Suki Waterhouse is at the Orpheum at 8 PM with Charlotte Lawrence, which should draw a crowd. If you're staying out late, there's Love Island at The Pearl at 10 and Otha's club tour at Village Studios, also at 10.

The weather's holding steady, so if you've been waiting for a Saturday that doesn't feel like a coin flip, this is it. Get out, catch a game, grab dinner somewhere good, and make the most of the light. The rest of the week's always there.

Cheers.
