Fifteen degrees and mostly cloudy—grab a layer you can shed. UV's at 4.0, so the sun's going to find you even behind those clouds. Sunset's at 8:06 PM, so you've got a solid evening ahead if you're thinking of heading out. Nothing extreme weather-wise, which means the commute should move.

If you're heading south on the 619 through South Delta, heads up: there's a detour running through the South Delta Rec Centre parking lot and 18 Ave because of a road block. Same deal eastbound and westbound—it'll add a few minutes, so build that into your timing. Extended through tomorrow too. Also, if you're catching the Millennium Line at Coquitlam Central or Brentwood this morning, the down escalators from the outbound platforms are temporarily down as of 6:03 and 6:04 AM respectively—nothing dramatic, but worth knowing if you're moving fast.

On the local radar: Mobi's sticking around. The city just renewed the bike share contract through 2031, so that infrastructure you've been counting on isn't going anywhere. On the political side, the progressive parties are racing to pick a single mayoral candidate before the Sept. 11 registration deadline—that one's worth watching. Meanwhile, the outside workers' job action is done; a binding arbitrator's been appointed to sort the dispute, so that's settling.

For dinner, you've got some solid moves. If you're craving something different, Rico Chicken just launched as a delivery-only Peruvian roasted-chicken spot—worth trying if you're ordering in. Spud Shack, the poutine spot everyone knows, just opened a second location in Surrey if you're heading that way. And if you're in the mood for something new-ish, Duchess Cafe opens Sept. 3 on Adanac with a no-tipping model and some solid cocktails behind it—mark that one.
