Transit's being a bit of a pain right now. The Canada Line is running delays due to a stalled train — check for updates before you head to the station. West Coast Express Train 1 out of Mission is running about 9 minutes late this morning on a mechanical issue. And if you're catching the Millennium Line at Lake City Way, heads up that the up escalator from the vending machine level is out of service for now. The Expo and Millennium lines are otherwise moving fine. Fair warning too: the Massey Tunnel wrapped up its weekend maintenance, so if you're heading south toward Surrey, you're back to normal routes.

On the local front, B.C. mayors are pushing the province hard on crime and public safety — five specific asks they want actioned. Also worth knowing: Richmond's Big Pirate Run is back at Garry Point this Saturday for its fifth year if you're looking for a weekend thing.

If you're hungry, there's real momentum in the food scene right now. Thirty-one Metro Vancouver spots made the Chinese Restaurant Awards finalists list — worth browsing if you're looking for dinner ideas. To Live For Bakery just opened a second vegan kiosk inside the Vancity building by the seawall if you're after something quick and plant-based. And if ramen's your thing, Ramen Danbo's launching two new spots this fall: a UBC express location and a proper flagship in Yaletown. Chef Steven Che's also opened Haisan on the Drive, a new 30-seat Chinese Pacific Northwest spot.

Tonesday's got some seriously stacked music if you're keen. Foster The People and Goth Babe are at the Freedom Mobile Arch at 7, keshi's at Rogers Arena at 8, and there's comedy and other sets floating around the city tonight. If you want to stay indoors, that's fine — it's dry enough, but nothing you'd call summer weather either. The shows are your play.
