Tuesday's got transit hiccups — plan around it.
Fair weather and a few route detours, but nothing that'll wreck your day. Good night out ahead.
Morning's 14°C and cloudy — grab a layer if you're heading out early, but you won't need much. Sun sets at 7:11 tonight, so you've got a solid twelve hours of daylight to work with. UV's at 4, so nothing urgent there.
Couple of transit things to know before you leave. The 16 bus is still rerouting — it's taking 63rd Loop, then Granville, then back to normal, so tack on a few minutes if you're heading that way. Shuttle bus is running to get you to Arbutus. The 187 and 180 are both gutted this morning thanks to operational issues on the East side (Coquitlam and Moody routes), so if that's your line, grab the alternatives or expect delays. Hit TransLink's app to see what's actually running.
On the bigger picture: transit workers just ratified a deal and killed the strike threat after months of real tension. That's solid news for everyone's commute going forward. Also worth knowing — Burnaby Hospital's getting $210 million pumped into emergency and surgical upgrades, so that's a real win for the region.
If you're thinking dinner, there's some decent new spots. Mandy's Gourmet Salads just landed in Kits this week if you want something light and bright. If omakase's more your speed, Noah's Cafe over in the West End is doing it for $100 a head — nine to twelve courses. And if you're into pastries, the Croissant Crawl's still happening around Metro Van — thirty-five vendors if you want to go full deep-dive.
Tonight's your move if live music's calling. Arlo Parks is at The Pearl (the show moved from the Orpheum), doors by 8. If you're into heavier sounds, Revocation's at Rickshaw at 6. The Rock Orchestra By Candlelight's at Queen Elizabeth if you want something orchestral. All indoor, so weather's zero drama.
Get sorted early if you're transit-dependent, and enjoy the clear stretch of daylight. See you out there.
