Thursday's a bit sharper—transit hiccups and a good night lined up

Morning's brought the temperature down—we're sitting at 9°C and mostly cloudy, so layer up if you're heading out. You've got a solid 12 hours of daylight, sunset at 7:06 PM, so plan your evening around that if you're catching anything outside. Air's clean, nothing to worry about there.

Couple of transit heads-ups before you move: the elevator at Canada Line's Vancouver City Centre Station is down from street level to the concourse starting at 5:50 AM—might slow you if that's your line. Over at Millennium Line Brentwood Town Centre, the down escalator from platform 2 is out, and if you're on the Expo Line at New Westminster, the up escalator to platform 1 is temporarily off. Not deal-breakers, just something to clock. Also, if you catch the 187 Parkway out of Coquitlam Central this morning, four trips are cancelled today—the 6:03, 6:46, 7:27, and 8:15 AM runs. Check ahead if that's you.

On the ground: there was a stabbing and robbery on Granville Street that's got Vancouver police asking for witnesses. One suspect is charged; they're still looking for another. Worth being aware of if you're heading that way.

Food-wise, if lunch is on your mind, Mandy's Gourmet Salads just opened their first Vancity spot in Kits this week—good time to check it out. There's also Four Bite Burger if you want something between fancy and no-fuss, and if you're in the mood for Korean with natural wine, the Shogun cast was spotted at Nui on Main Street, which is probably a sign the place is worth a visit.

Tonight's got some real options. The Canucks are home against Edmonton at Rogers Arena, puck drops at 6:00 PM if hockey's your thing. If you're leaning live music instead, Big Thief's playing Malkin Bowl at 6:00 PM—outdoor venue, so bring a layer given it's cooling down. Later on, there's Tokyo Tea Room's Feel Forever Tour with Kylie V at the Hollywood Theatre at 8:00 PM, Hermanos Gutiérrez at the Queen Elizabeth at the same time, or electronic and folk over at The WISE Hall. If you want something gentler earlier, the Vancouver Symphony's doing an Afternoon at the Proms at the Orpheum at 2:00 PM.
