Couple of transit notes before you move: the 187 Coquitlam Central Station has four westbound trips cancelled this morning due to operational issues — those are leaving at 6:18 AM, 7:02 AM, 7:44 AM, and 8:35 AM from Westbound Parkway Blvd at Plateau. If that's your line, give yourself extra buffer or find an alternate. Over at Expo Line Waterfront, three escalators are down for repairs starting at 5:25 AM — one heading up to the Seabus Concourse and two by the Howe Street vending machines. Granville Station's also got an escalator out by the Dunsmuir entrance starting at 5:30 AM. Nothing dramatic, but it'll slow you down if you're catching the train early.

On the local front, Roche Point Park's now officially protected — the old-growth forest up there is locked in for public use after council voted it through. That's solid news for anyone who wants that space to stay as it is. Meanwhile, the Cambie Corridor's getting 229 new rental homes built after a court challenge got dismissed, and there's talk of turning the old Petro-Canada site in Marpole into an 11-storey mixed tower with hotel, condos, and office space. The housing conversation keeps moving.

If you're thinking about eating out, Straight Outta Brooklyn just reopened on Kingsway after a year away — good timing for a Friday. Four Bite Burger's the move if you want sliders that actually matter, and Nui on Main Street's been getting the crowd lately for Korean food and natural wine.
