Thursday morning: mostly cloudy, a few transit hiccups, good evening ahead.

Morning's sitting at 12°C and mostly cloudy, which means you can dress normal and leave the heavy rain jacket at home. UV's mild at 3.0, so no sunscreen emergency. Sun's down at 6:51 PM, so you've got a solid day of light if you're planning anything outside at lunch.

A couple of transit things to know: If you're catching the West Coast Express in Mission City heading westbound at 5:25 AM, you're looking at about a six-minute delay into Pitt Meadows. The elevator at Millennium Line's Rupert Station (main entrance to the VCC-Clark platform) is down for now, so take the stairs if that's your stop. And if you rely on the 733 Rock Ridge from Haney Place—those 6:34 and 7:26 AM trips are cancelled today due to an operational issue. Finally, the southbound stop on Fraser at E 57th is closed through tomorrow for construction, so detour around that if you're heading that way.

On the wider radar: Capilano University on the North Shore just landed $215,000 to expand Indigenous student support, which is solid news for the campus. BC Ferries is moving toward a $1.3 billion fuel supply deal that'll likely go to a US-owned company—worth watching as it shapes ferry operations ahead. And Richmond's hosting mayoral and council debates through October on housing and food security if you're keeping an eye on what's happening in the suburbs.

If you're thinking about dinner, there's some movement in the food scene. West End Butcher just opened on Davie with Montreal-style house-cured meats if you want to check that out. Wildlight Kitchen + Bar in West Point Grey is closing after three-plus years, so if you were meaning to go, now's the time. Bento Cafe opened a second spot in Kerrisdale with Japanese Teishoku sets if you're after something quick and solid. And Torafuku's still drawing the crowds for pan-Asian and natural wine if you want somewhere reliable.

Tonight's got options. There's hockey—Delta Ice Hawks at Richmond Sockeyes at Minoru Arena at 7 PM if you're keen for that. Music-wise, Dua Saleh's at the Biltmore Cabaret at 7, and Mountain Grass Unit's doing the Appalachian Smoke Tour at Fox Cabaret at the same time. If theatre's more your speed, & Juliet (the touring production) is at Queen Elizabeth Theatre at 7:30 PM. There's also Canada Super60 at BC Place (four matches plus a live magic show) at 1:30 PM if you're after something daytime.

Nothing too wild weather-wise, so plan what you want and get out there. Cheers.
