Suki Waterhouse fills Orpheum with romantic spectacle and surprise duet at Loveland show

Suki Waterhouse brought her Loveland Tour to the Orpheum Theatre on August 8, delivering a commanding stage presence with unmatched production design and lighting that immersed the audience from start to finish.

The English singer-songwriter, known for modelling work with brands like Burberry and Tommy Hilfiger and roles in films including Love, Rosie and Detective Pikachu, has built her music career since 2016. She has opened for Taylor Swift and Laufey, and released three studio albums.

Waterhouse focused heavily on her latest release, Loveland, a project that leans into romance with warm and dreamy production. Eleven of the 20 songs in the setlist came from the new album, though fan favourites still got their moment. She opened with "Supersad," emerging in a red ruffled coat and sunglasses, with stage wind creating a dreamlike effect as her hair caught the breeze. The production design was striking — lush curtains, bushes with string lights, and a centrepiece of a heart-shaped disco ball pierced by arrows that shimmered behind the singer. The Orpheum felt like a perfect match for the Victorian-esque theming she was creating. Waterhouse and her band held glasses of red wine throughout the evening, adding to the romanticism.

She ran through fan favourites like "My Fun" and "Moves," and during "Good Looking" dropped from the stage to walk up and down the orchestra section, engaging audiences directly. Toward the end of the set came a complete surprise: actress Ella Bright, who appears in the hit series Off Campus currently filming its second season in the city, joined Waterhouse to duet "Girl That I Am" — its first live performance. The collaboration made sense; Waterhouse recorded a rendition of the song for the official Off Campus soundtrack album. As the final note rang out, the two embraced while the crowd gave an overwhelming ovation.

Waterhouse closed with the title track "Loveland," "Puppy Dog Eyes," and "Weirdo" before ending the night with "To Love." She delivered some of her most emotional and commanding vocals of the set, dancing around the stage and blowing kisses to the audience in gratitude.

The Orpheum proved an ideal venue — fans rarely recorded on their phones, staying fully engaged with the singer for every moment of the show, a rare sight in contemporary live music.
