The Canadian Food Inspection Agency issued a recall Monday, August 31, for Compliments brand Smashed 100% Chicken Burgers due to undeclared egg, affecting all codes where egg is not declared on the label.
Compliments is sold at grocery stores across Canada, including Sobeys, FreshCo, Foodland, and Safeway. "Do not use, sell, serve or distribute the affected product," the CFIA notice reads.
This is the second recall for Compliments Smashed 100% Chicken Burgers this month. On August 7, the CFIA issued the first recall, which only involved packages with a certain universal product code, best before date and lot number.
The recall has been assigned as class two, which means there is a moderate risk that consuming the food may lead to short-term or non-life-threatening health problems. The CFIA has not stated any reported reactions associated with the burgers.
