Elijah Wood stops by Chinatown's Thank You Pizza

Elijah Wood made a stop at Thank You Pizza in Chinatown this week, marking his latest visit to a Vancouver restaurant during what's become an ongoing love affair with the city's food scene.

Thank You Pizza, located in the Chinatown space that also operates as Honeybee Bruncheonette, is a counter-service concept serving sourdough pizza, natural wines, and beer. The venue posted a photo of Wood smiling with staff, with the caption "Thanks for stopping by!!!!!"

Highlights from the menu include the Mushroom (extra virgin olive oil, mushrooms, mascarpone, aged mozzarella, parmesan, garlic, mizuna, and truffle vinaigrette), the Burrata (tomato, burrata, basil, oregano, garlic, and extra virgin olive oil), and the Calabrese (béchamel, soppressata, fior di latte, aged mozzarella, parmesan, red onion, chilli flakes, and basil). The kitchen also rotates specials; a recent offering featured zucchini, sun-dried tomatoes, and whipped ricotta.

Wood has become something of a Vancouver restaurant ambassador. Earlier this year, he and his Lord of the Rings co-stars Sean Astin, Billy Boyd, and Dominic Monaghan visited during Fan Expo and dined extensively around the city. Wood was so impressed he later gave Vancouver a shout-out in an interview with CN Traveler, praising the city's sushi and award-winning restaurants.

"There are a number of Michelin-starred restaurants there," he said. "One of my favourite places that I just went to, and I hadn't been in a long time, is Vij's, the Indian restaurant." The group also visited Mott 32. Wood called British Columbia "so amazing" and highlighted its natural beauty alongside its culinary scene. "You've got islands and sort of fjords and mountains and forests and bald eagles, actually, kind of everywhere. It's really, really beautiful with really great food."
