Vancouver is rolling out a full week of free programming for B.C. Seniors' Week, running June 1–7, celebrating the knowledge and contributions of the province's fastest-growing demographic.

Arts and creativity offerings span painting, Persian paper marbling, vision boards, and collaging at Kitsilano, West Point Grey, and Roundhouse community centres. Fitness classes include chair yoga, Zumba, and cardio at Trout Lake, West Point Grey, Roundhouse, and False Creek centres. Qi Gong and Tai Chi sessions happen at Trout Lake and Roundhouse.

Dance programs take centre stage: line dancing, Hawaiian dancing, and tea dancing at Roundhouse Community Centre run Monday through Thursday. The week culminates Friday, June 5, at Killarney Community Centre from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., with a Killarney Bandstand event featuring music from the 1950s through 1970s.

Practical seminars address contemporary concerns: dental care, fraud prevention, government benefits, dementia, and more, at community centres on both the city's East and West sides. For those seeking social connection, the city also offers bingo, coffee-and-tea gatherings, and casual conversation events.

Virtually all events are free, though registration is required. For the full list of Vancouver Seniors' Week programming, visit the City of Vancouver website. The week celebrates seniors' decades of experience, resilience, and community presence—and invites residents to show up and celebrate alongside them.
