The Chan Centre for the Performing Arts has announced more bold-type names for its coming 2026-2027 season that already includes musicians Angélique Kidjo and Branford Marsalis, authors Zadie Smith and Min Jin Lee, and culture critic Fran Lebowitz.

New additions to the Vancouver lineup include author and cultural critic Ta-Nehisi Coates, known for works exploring American identity and race; physician and author Gabor Maté, recognized for his writing on trauma, addiction, and healing; and novelist Ocean Vuong, acclaimed for his lyrical fiction.

The expanded roster positions the Chan Centre as a major venue for literary and cultural conversation on the West Coast, drawing both established and emerging audiences throughout the 2026-27 season.
