Vancouver rock band Default is celebrating the 25th anniversary of their debut album, The Fallout, with a tour that brings them back to their home region — including an Abbotsford show on October 4, at Abbotsford Arts Centre.
The four-piece group rose to international fame with their track "Wasting My Time" and earned two Juno nominations during their initial run. They temporarily disbanded in 2013 but reunited in 2018 and have conducted a series of tours since. Frontman Dallas Smith has built a parallel career as a country music artist, earning 50 nominations at the Canadian Country Music Awards and two additional Juno nominations. Bassist Dave Benedict, an Abbotsford resident for years, hasn't performed in the city since Animals nightclub closed.
Opening for Default on October 4 will be fellow Juno-nominated band Wide Mouth Mason, active since 1995 and responsible for tracks like "My Old Self" and "Midnight Rain" from their 1997 album, each with over one million streams. Tickets are available at defaultband.com.
