Lansdowne Centre is bringing back its free weekly gardening workshops, where Richmond residents learn growing skills and techniques from local experts—from seed to harvest, even with zero prior experience.
The next workshop, scheduled for Thursday, June 25, will focus on "Harvest Greens." Sessions continue every Thursday from 3:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. through October 29.
All participants can learn how to grow, harvest, and care for their own gardens. Children are welcome, with three special gardening workshops for kids scheduled for July 16, August 13, and September 10.
The six-year-old program serves a larger community purpose: all produce grown in the garden is donated to local community organizations and food banks. Since 2021, the program has donated about 3,000 pounds of fresh produce to organizations serving families in need.
The workshops are located in the south-east parking lot at Lansdowne Centre, near T&T Supermarket. For a full list of upcoming sessions, visit the Lansdowne Centre Food Garden event website.
