Pedestrian killed in North Burnaby collision; police seek witnesses

A 68-year-old Burnaby resident died following a collision in North Burnaby Monday, Aug. 10.
RCMP officers were called to the crash in the area of Pender Street and MacDonald Avenue shortly after 6:30 p.m. The woman was found with serious injuries and received emergency medical aid at the scene but did not survive after being transported to hospital. The driver remained at the scene and is cooperating with the investigation.
The Integrated Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Service (ICARS) has been called in to collect evidence. Police say work is continuing to determine the circumstances leading up to the fatal collision.
Anyone with information or video footage from the area between 6:25 and 6:45 p.m. Monday is asked to call the Burnaby RCMP at 604-646-9999.
