The annual celebration returns June 20 at Central City Shopping Centre plaza with entertainment, vendors, and a day of community from noon to 7 p.m.

Surrey Pride Festival returns Saturday, June 20 to celebrate the colours of the rainbow with entertainment, vendors, and community gathering at Central City Shopping Centre plaza from noon to 7 p.m.

The festival is part of a busy summer of events across Surrey. Other highlights include:

Soccer Fan Zones celebrating FIFA World Cup with live games on big screens, food, and entertainment through July 19 at Surrey Civic Plaza (free admission). Additional sites open July 1 at Cloverdale Agriplex and July 14 at South Surrey Athletic Park.

Surrey Fusion Festival (July 18-19 at Holland Park): Western Canada's largest multicultural festival, featuring 50-plus cultural pavilions, rides, dance battles, workshops, and an Indigenous Village marketplace (free admission).

Surrey Canada Day (July 1 at Bill Reid Millennium Amphitheatre, 10 a.m. to 10:30 p.m. in Cloverdale): Canadian country singer Josh Ross headlines, along with Lee Aaron, a Reckless tribute to Bryan Adams, and prog-funk band Brass Camel. Fireworks follow the final note of music.

Theatre & Opera: - "Hey! Figaro!" — Rossini's comic opera performed by Surrey's Crescendo Operatic Society (June 19-21 at Surrey Arts Centre Studio Theatre; relaxed performance June 20 at 2 p.m.) - "Cinderella" by Fraser Valley Musical Theatre (June 26-July 5 at Surrey Arts Centre Main Stage; adapted from the 1957 CBS broadcast starring Julie Andrews) - The Oneness Experience with Lee Harris (July 2 at Bell Performing Arts Centre; 3-hour live theater event with inspiration, healing, and music)

Music: - Hugh Penner jazz concert (Friday, June 26 at 5 p.m., Northwood United Church, Fleetwood venue; $25 advance; fundraiser for Juilliard studies) - FVDED in the Park (July 3-4 at Holland Park; headliners include Dom Dolla and Fisher)
