British Columbia voters can cast ballots during advance voting from Friday, October 16 through Wednesday, October 21, with polls open 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. local time each day. Anyone registered and eligible to vote can participate at any voting place in the province.
Elections BC sent "Where to Vote" cards to every registered voter listing advance voting locations in their electoral district and their assigned polling place for the final vote on Saturday, October 24. Voters are encouraged to bring these cards but are not required to.
To vote, you'll need proof of identity and address. Acceptable options include a B.C. driver's licence, B.C. Identification Card, B.C. Services Card, or any government-issued card showing name, photo and address. If you don't have photo ID, bring any two pieces showing your name with at least one bearing your current address—examples include a CareCard, birth certificate, student card, bank statement or property tax notice.
If you lack the required ID, a registered voter from your electoral district can vouch for you—a spouse, parent, grandparent, adult child, adult grandchild, adult sibling, or someone with personal care authority over you. Your voucher must provide acceptable identification.
Elections BC will publish advance voting turnout statistics on its website. For questions, call 1-800-661-8683. As HighOnCity reported in late September, B.C. voters face two elections in seven days: municipal elections on October 17 and this provincial ballot on October 24.
