As Canada gears up to host the FIFA World Cup tournament alongside the U.S. and Mexico, new commemorative coins have entered circulation. The Royal Canadian Mint has released two versions of the new $1 FIFA World Cup 2026 coin — a colourized edition and a non-colourized edition. Designed by Canadian artist Glen Green, the coins commemorate Canada's role as a host nation for the tournament, which runs from June 11 to July 19. Toronto and Vancouver are among the 16 cities hosting the event.
