Loblaws City Market opened Friday on the second floor of The Stories tower at Granville and West Broadway, becoming the third City Market location in Vancouver and the fifth across Metro Vancouver.

The 19,000-square-foot grocery store is positioned above the future entrance to the SkyTrain's South Granville Station, which is expected to open in late 2027 as part of the Broadway Subway extension. Escalators and elevators connect street level to the store, which features sweeping floor-to-ceiling windows overlooking the streetscape.

The market caters to urban shoppers seeking both traditional groceries and ready-to-eat options. Customers can find prepared foods such as made-in-store sandwiches, salads, bowls and sushi, alongside a self-serve salad bar, bakery, and full-service meat, seafood and deli counters. The store also carries fresh produce, dairy, frozen foods, pantry staples, household items, and products from local brands including Bliss Balls, Berry Crispies and Peel.

At the prominent northeast corner of Granville and West Broadway, a Starbucks location is also under development in a retail unit immediately beside the future SkyTrain entrance.
