Prime Minister Mark Carney met with Philippine President Ferdinand "Bongbong" Marcos Jr. at the Jollibee flagship location on Granville Street Thursday, July 2, the restaurant chain announced on Instagram.

"Big smiles at Jollibee Vancouver Granville today," Jollibee said in a post. "Honored to welcome Philippine President Ferdinand 'Bongbong' Marcos Jr. and Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney!"

The casual meet came during Carney's busy schedule in Vancouver, which included unveiling the Canada-British Columbia Cooperative Prosperity Agreement alongside Premier David Eby. The bilateral visit underscores ongoing trade and diplomatic engagement between Canada and the Philippines.

Jollibee, the world's largest chicken-focused fast-food chain with over 1,700 locations globally, opened its first B.C. location on Granville in 2022 to massive crowds. Roughly 5,000 people waited to try the menu of Jolly Crispy Chicken, mashed potatoes, gravy, and its signature Jolly Spaghetti studded with hot dogs.
