Metro Vancouver Transit Police arrested Emmanuel Enocent Dario, 36, a Surrey resident wanted on eight Canada-wide arrest warrants out of Estevan, Saskatchewan.
Dario was taken into custody on Thursday, August 27, shortly before 8 p.m., when transit police's mobile enforcement team conducted an impaired-driving enforcement operation in the area around Surrey Central Station. He remains in custody pending his next court appearance.
In Saskatchewan, Dario is wanted for two counts of possession for the purposes of trafficking a controlled substance, two counts of failure to comply with a release order, two counts of failure to attend court, one count of possession of property obtained by crime, and one count of obstructing a peace officer.
Constable Sunny Kainth said in a statement, "We are proud to have removed a wanted criminal from our community in partnership with policing partners."
