Surrey voters will elect a mayor, eight city councillors and six school trustees on Saturday, October 17, choosing from 97 candidates.

Mayoral candidates include Igal Ammons-II (New Surrey+), Linda Annis (Surrey First), Brenda Locke (Surrey Connect), Doug McCallum (Safe Surrey Coalition), Honveer Singh Randhawa (Conservative Party of Surrey), Mike Starchuk (Imagine Surrey), and Troy Van Vliet (Surrey NOW). Each brings a slate of eight council candidates, alongside independent council candidates and school trustee hopefuls representing multiple education-focused groups.

Advance voting is set for October 7, 10, 14 and 15 from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. at 10 voting locations across the city. On election day, voters may cast ballots at any of 52 locations between 8 a.m. and 8 p.m. Voters will receive a voter card; bring it to the polls along with a piece of ID. Those not yet registered may vote with two pieces of acceptable identification.

The expanded field reflects growing interest in shaping the city's future. Surrey's mayoral race has drawn scrutiny in recent years, including an earlier controversy over alleged foreign election interference on Facebook. The 2026 contest gives residents multiple visions for the direction of the region's governance, services and schools.
