Alberta on the Plate, the province's 10-day dining festival, launches Friday, August 7, with over 40 Calgary restaurants participating — ranging from fine dining to casual eateries.

Each participating restaurant has designed multi-course menus to showcase Alberta's producers, growers, distillers, and brewers. Participating spots include 5 Senses, Aama Nepalese Cuisine, Alloy, Annabelle's Kitchen, Bar Chouette, Bonterra Trattoria, Born Brewing Co., Borough, Botanicus Kitchen + Bar, Chairman's Steakhouse, Deane House, Diner Deluxe, Eighty Eight Brewing Co. and Portland Street Pizza, The Embarcadero, Fence & Post, FinePrint, Flower & Wolf, Foxtrot, French 50 Bakery, Friends With Benedicts, Hawthorn, Hi-5, Luca, Orchard, Our Daily Brett, Oxbow, Posto, Rain Dog Bar, Rendesvouz, River Cafe, Rouge, Roy's Korean Kitchen, Satsuki, Shoe & Canoe, Side Hustle, The Artist Lounge, The Derrick, The Nash, The Sweatered Hen, The Wilde, Village Brewery, and Vintage Chophouse.

Each establishment is also offering recommended local pairings — wine, spirits, or beer — that can be added to complement the meal. The festival runs until Sunday, August 16.

The timing follows the Taste of Calgary, which HighOnCity reported drew massive crowds downtown over the August 1-3 weekend. Alberta on the Plate offers a different experience — full restaurant menus rather than sampling booths — allowing diners to explore the province's dining landscape venue by venue.
