Ricardo's Hideaway closing after decade on 5th Street
Popular rum-focused cocktail bar says goodbye this summer with months of farewell specials.
Ricardo's Hideaway, the popular downtown cocktail bar known for rum-based drinks and endless summer vibes, is closing at the end of summer after a decade in business.
The bar, located just off 17th Avenue, will celebrate its final months with a summer-long farewell party starting June 10. Throughout the festivities, there will be surprise rum specials, late-night endless jerk crab and wings, and $10 rum cocktails.
The closure adds to a string of recent restaurant and bar losses in Calgary, but Ricardo's is going out with style — giving regulars and new visitors ample time to say goodbye to a neighbourhood fixture that's become part of downtown's social fabric.
