Shake Shack opens Canada's first drive-thru in Calgary this fall
The burger chain is opening its second Calgary location at 9253 Macleod Trail S.W., marking the first Canadian drive-thru for the brand.

Shake Shack is bringing a first to Canada: a drive-thru location on Macleod Trail.
The popular burger joint will open its second Calgary outpost at 9253 Macleod Trail S.W. this fall, and it will be the first Shake Shack with a drive-thru anywhere in Canada. This comes weeks after the chain opened its first Alberta location at CF Chinook Centre last month to significant fanfare.
Billy Richmond, business director at Shake Shack Canada, said Calgary was the logical choice for the drive-thru concept. "It's a city where driving is a part of everyday life, and we wanted to create a Shack experience that offers guests greater convenience year-round. Hospitality is at the heart of everything we do, and the drive-thru gives us another way to deliver that experience beyond our restaurant walls," he said.
The Macleod Trail location will serve the same menu as other Canadian Shake Shack outlets: 100 per cent Alberta beef burgers, crinkle-cut fries, and the chain's signature milkshakes. Other high-profile chains, including Krispy Kreme and Chick-fil-A, have caused significant buzz when opening on Macleod Trail, and the anticipation for Shake Shack's newest venture is expected to be similarly strong.
