Airdrie is preparing a full day of Canada Day festivities on July 1, with events running from morning parade through evening fireworks.

The Canada Day Parade begins at 10 a.m. in downtown Airdrie on a new reversed route running from Allen Street and 1 Avenue to École Edwards Elementary School. Road closures begin at 9 a.m. and remain in effect until 1 p.m. along Jensen Drive, Main Street from Jensen to Centre Avenue, Centre Avenue to Edmonton Trail, and Allen Street between Centre and 3 Avenue N.E. Free shuttle service runs 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. from Bert Church LIVE Theatre to McDonald's on Edmonton Trail, and from South Transit Terminal to City Hall.

After the parade, downtown hosts special promotions and unique offerings from local businesses—browsable via an interactive map. The Airdrie CultureFest runs 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. at Nose Creek Regional Park, celebrating local culture and community connections.

The day ends with a 20-minute artistic fireworks display at Chinook Winds Park at 10:45 p.m. A no-public-access zone and fallout area will be in place from 8 p.m. to 11:30 p.m.; security, municipal enforcement, and RCMP will manage access.

The Airdrie Pro Rodeo also runs June 27 through July 1, with the free Rocky View Junior Rodeo for families at 4 p.m. on June 27 and 28. All rodeo donations support the Airdrie Food Bank. Beer gardens open after performances; children are welcome until 11 p.m.

The city encourages visitors to walk, bike, use transit, or e-scooters when possible. Drivers should review parking and road closures before attending, as parking is limited.
